baboonsandmoons One of the finest executions of atmosphere in this odd corner of the music world. Tense, cathartic, mysterious. Favorite track: The Light He Cannot Touch.

ethanjpollard I've been listening to this (and the rest of Wydraddear's discography) as I work on a folk horror novella I'm writing, and wow does this nail the atmosphere. This is a sound completely unique to Wydraddear, conjuring a land rife with history and dark, hidden things lurking in the earth. Beautiful and haunting. Favorite track: He Treads The Land.

The Vagabond of fate

"Ylglyd, from nothing lost everything
Curious, from his eyes
Pure and Dark the world awakened
Cursed with envy,
On his new land The Hermit he became
Deathless his life, solitary his destiny
The punished soul, wandering beyond the present
Without a word, without a move The Klyll watches
The Vagabond of fate, agony from sin"

The Doomwatcher tells the story of Klyll, observer of time, wanderer of fate.
It begins long ago with the banishment of Ylglyd, a cosmic being who was punished for his curiosity. His sin was contrary to the laws of his people, and his action led to the creation of Wydraddear, a land of chaos and light, a world of legends and distant stories. Ylglyd the Curious was thus condemned to live on his creation, alone, infinitely, in a body of flesh and blood. He became the Hermit, lost in his clearing, deep in time.
His soul had to leave him to travel the world, to see beyond the present, the moments of the future. It became Klyll the Vagabond. He too had to live alone, endlessly, without being able to touch, to speak, to be heard or seen, without being loved. Tortured to be the passive onlooker of the fate of the world.
